MXGP of Spain 2022: schedules, preview and how to watch it MXGP will contest its ninth round on the calendar this weekend in Spain. Check here the schedules and how to follow it live. After the race in Sardinia -in which Tim Gajser was proclaimed the solid leader of the classification- the Spanish fans are preparing to receive, this weekend, the 9th round of the year on national territory. Located specifically on the Xanadú de Arroyomolinos circuit, the Madrid arena will host the third edition of the MXGP of Spain. During the weekend a total of twelve tasks will be decided with the European Championship, MX2, MXW, EMX125 and the main protagonists of MXGP: Jorge Prado and Rubén Fernández. The celebration expects to welcome some 10,000 fans and more than 20 national pilots who will star in a Sunday full of emotion and adrenaline in the national arena. CALVIN VLAANDEREN BECOMES THIRD 2022 WINNER WITH FIRST MXGP TRIUMPH IN SARDEGNA

  Round eight of the 2022 MXGP World Championship threw up unexpected winners, and contrast between the two Grand Prix classes. Jorge Prado entered the MXGP of Sardegna on the back foot. He missed the last Grand Prix in Maggiora on the weekend previous to Sardegna due to a dislocated shoulder. Even for Riola, Prado’s participation was only confirmed on the Thursday before the race by the factory GasGas team. But, nonetheless, Prado assumed his usual spot at the end of the weekend, as he stood on the podium for the sixth time in the first eight races of 2022.  Calvin Vlaanderen, 2022 MXGP of Sardegna. - Yamaha Racing. But, the riders alongside Prado on the rostrum at the end of Sunday’s racing were entirely unexpected.  Calvin Vlaanderen had never finished on the podium in the MXGP class before the MXGP of Sardegna. His last GP victory was in Indonesia 2018 when he rode for Honda in MX2. But, he dominated the first moto with a display of superior sand riding and fitness.  Vlaanderen too

PRADO WINS AGUEDA

  JORGE PRADO DOMINATES IN AGUEDA   The 21 year old boy puts up the GAS GAS Red Bull Factory on the top of the podium. In the first race, the #61 won against Brian Bogers, while Tim Gajser took the last place on the podium. Glenn Coldenhoff and Jeremy Seewer followed to close out the top five. In the second, it was Tim Gajser's turn to win, who fell short of his goals in Portugal, with Prado in second and Coldenhoff to claim the last spot on the podium. Bogers was fourth and Pauls Jonass fifth. After this race the classification keeps with 186 points for Gajser and 165 for Prado.

OLSEN IN A COMA

Following a crash in the qualifying race at the MXGP of Latvian, DIGA Procross KTM Racing MXGP gave this update about their rider Thomas Kjer Olsen on their Instagram page this morning. “During the qualifying race for the MXGP of Latvia in Kegums, DIGA Procross KTM Racing MXGP athlete Thomas Kjer Olsen crashed heavily and was taken to hospital by the medical staff. At the hospital, Thomas Kjer Olsen was placed in a medically induced coma by doctors due to his head injury. Thomas Kjer Olsen is in a stable condition and is receiving the best medical care. The family and the Team want to thank for all the messages regarding Thomas’s condition and hope that this statement will be respected *until* further news will come out when there is more news to give.
